This interview happened while I was interviewing Susan and Eric about trips with their families for a game of audio tag we were playing here at Radio Pie. They were having trouble remembering stories when we realized they’d had a pretty interesting first family trip as a new family — travelling to Korea to adopt their son, Isaac. It’s a simple story, told by good folks, and it makes me glad I own a microphone.
This piece was originally featured on Big Shed, the audio documentary channel at IndieFeed. Big Shed is a podcast featuring the work of independent producers from around the country that I co-curate with Durham-based producer Jennifer Deer.

Well, it’s a double whammy cause for celebration. We’re posting “Writing in Public.” It’s the very first Radio Pie podcast! It’s the the first piece we’ve produced from playing a little audio tag, hence the hat. I guess it’s time to consider ourselves up and running. It’s a proud first offering from the pie.
